Agricultural Greenhouses: Methodology and Construction
Stage 11 – Building the greenhouse scaffolding
In this stage we build the greenhouse scaffolds. For this we need to fasten 1-meter-long stakes (Photo 149) to the columns. These stakes (Photo 150) will be nailed to a 7-meter long by 10-centimeter wide piece of lumber (Photo 151). Photo 152 shows the catwalk that will provide the support for the people who will apply the plastic on the greenhouse. The sole purpose of the scaffolding is that of providing better working conditions when covering the bent 2-inch pipe structure with the plastic film. Other methods might also be used. After the plastic film has been stretched over the upper part of the structure, the scaffolds are to be removed before the final holding in place of the side plastic film.
